Fire on motor yacht AddictionM/Y Addiction (52m Amels) was by anchor off Beaulieu-sur-Mer (France) when a fire started in the mast during the night of the 20th May 2011.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and is still yet unknown. The fire was spotted early, the crew reacted quickly and professionally and the fire was extinguished, saving the vessel. There were no casualties or injuries.

The vessel subsequently sailed to La Ciotat (East of Marseille) under her own power.
On the 24th, she was safely docked to start the first repairs.

The well trained and profesional crew avoided a major desaster on the French Riviera.
